Hello! My name is Morgan Miller. I will be the new reading and math interventionist this coming school year and I am so excited! I have taught both 5th grade and 4th grade at Brookview Elementary in the Waukee Community School District. I also attended Iowa State University where I received a degree in Elementary Education with endorsements in both math and reading. 

I really enjoy spending time with my friends and family, playing games, and going on walks. We recently had a little girl named Layla, she is 6 months old and is such a light in our lives! 

I am really looking forward to this new opportunity. I cannot wait to continue to learn and grow as an educator, and get to know Westwood!

Hello!

I am Mickayla Bradley-Filmon. I will be teaching 3rd grade this upcoming school year. This is my first year teaching, but I was a paraeducator for 4 years at Akron-Westfield while I received my Master's in Elementary Education. I also have substituted at Akron-Westfield and at Mapleton Elementary where I completed my student teaching.

I moved to Iowa 6 years ago from Florida. I still love the sunshine and take my dogs on adventures as much as I can. Otherwise, I am spending time with family, cooking, or reading.

I am really excited and looking forward to joining the educators at Westwood and being part of this wonderful community!

Hi! I am Josef Hedger. I am the new Secondary Social Studies teacher, assistant baseball coach, and assistant football coach here at Westwood. This past spring, I graduated from Missouri Valley College with a degree in Secondary Social Studies Education. While in college, I played 4 years of collegiate baseball. 

I am a Western Iowa native, as I graduated from Logan-Magnolia in 2021. I am a huge sports fan, particularly the St. Louis Cardinals, Missouri Tigers, Philadelphia Eagles, and now the Westwood Rebels of course.

I am excited to begin my journey as an educator here at Westwood and be a part of the Rebel family! 

Hi! I’m Jessica Gabel and I will be teaching Elementary Special Education here at Westwood  this coming school year. I recently graduated from Buena Vista University with my Bachelors degree in Elementary Education.

My husband and I live in Salix with our 1 year old son, Denver, and our three dogs. We enjoy traveling and spending time with family. 

I am also a Westwood grad! Go Rebels! I am so excited to be back and part of our rebel family in a different way!
